Measure around the base of your neck, just below the Adam's apple, where a shirt collar sits. Keep one finger under the tape.

Measure across your back from the edge of one shoulder to the other (sleeve joint to sleeve joint).

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms, keeping the tape level.

With your arm slightly bent, measure from the shoulder seam down the outside of the arm to the wrist bone.

Measure from the base of the collar at the back of your neck down to where the jacket should finish.

Kilts sit higher than trousers: measure around your waist at navel (belly button) level, about 2 inches above your hip bone. Keep the tape snug and tight.

Stand with your feet together and measure around the broadest part of your hips and seat, with empty pockets.

The distance from your waist line down to your hip/seat line, measured at the side (typically about 6 inches).

Kneel upright on the floor, place the tape on the floor and measure up to your belly button. Standing, the kilt will finish at the middle of the knee.
